Reports from multiple media outlets about a small business package as part of the $484 billion deal reached by Congress and the White House. Significant is that it addresses concerns raised on this blog and elsewhere on appropriate strategies to reach minority businesses and those without established banking relationships.

The deal reportedly sets aside money for smaller lenders – the community development financial institutions and others that are connected with minority and micro businesses. This will make a big difference as money can flow more easily to low income neighborhoods.
